Nepal launches Flat Classroom AWL project

We are proud to be the first group from Kathmandu, Nepal to join the Flat Classroom AWL project. Three of our classes in Grades 3, 4, and 5 are participating and the students are enjoying it so far. In teams they created a ‘handshake’ using Google Slides and then voted on their favorite to turn into a jigsaw puzzle for others to guess where we are located. The students laughed when we’ve had some voters within Edmodo who think we’re in California! Then we used Voki to create individual handshakes and we’re posting them within our small groups in Edmodo. So far the students have been engaged and have enjoyed learning some new tools. However, I don’t think they fully understand the vision of what we’re part of yet or the global scope of this project. I’m hoping this will all come together as they start to interact within their small groups in Edmodo and start collecting, sharing, and comparing multimedia.

We’re keeping our own blog of the project at:
